About Working Together
Q
How does the free intro consultation work?
We hop on Zoom for 15 minutes. You tell me what you're hoping to find in a trainer, I share how I work, and we figure out together whether it's a fit. No pressure to book.
Q
Can I work with you if I'm not in Toronto?
Yes. All personal training sessions are virtual on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. I'm based in Toronto and most clients are in Canada or the US, but there's no geographic limit.
Q
How does pricing work?
New clients start at $299 in your local currency for 4 sessions, billed up front.
Q
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
Life happens. Reach out as soon as you know and we'll find a new time. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice when possible so we can both plan. Last minute cancellations and no-show appointments will be counted as redeemed, and no credit will be provided.
The Approach
Q
What does "body-neutral" actually mean?
Body-neutral means your body doesn't have to be a project. We focus on what movement does for you (strength, energy, mood, mobility) instead of how it makes your body look. No before-and-afters, no “transformation” goals.
Q
Will you help me lose weight?
I don't use weight loss in my marketing because it's often perceived as the only fitness goal, and it's not helpful for everyone. Some people have specific reasons for wanting to lose weight, and one-on-one sessions are a safe space to talk about that. Weight loss isn't my specialty or focus, so we can chat about whether I'm the right coach for you.
Q
I have a history with disordered eating. Is this a safe space for me?
Yes, and this approach was built with you in mind. I don’t talk about calories, “earning” food, or punishing workouts. Many of my clients are rebuilding their relationship with movement, and we go at your pace.
What to Expect
Q
Do I need a gym membership or special equipment?
Nope. I build your workouts around what you already have, even if that's nothing. Bodyweight, a couple of dumbbells, resistance bands, a chair, the floor: all of it works. We figure it out on the intro call.
Q
I'm a complete beginner. Will this work for me?
Absolutely! Whether you are new to exercise or haven't moved in a while, you are very welcome here. My least favourite subject in school was gym class. If you feel the same way, then you definitely belong here. Together, we will build a realistic movement plan that works for you!
Q
I have chronic pain or an injury. Can you still train me?
Almost always, yes! Many of my clients deal with chronic pain, and most of us deal with injuries at some point in our lives. Your movement plan is built around your body, accounting for pain, mobility limits, fatigue, and what feels good. Oftentimes, implementing regular movement is helpful for reducing pain. If you have an injury or condition that is outside my scope, I'll let you know and refer you out to a specialist.
Q
What does an actual session look like?
We hop on Zoom and check in about how you're feeling that day. I'll adjust your workout based on what you need. In our 45-minute session we'll go through a warm up and a main block of exercises. Throughout the session we'll chat, check in and adapt as needed. I'm here to cheer you on and answer any questions you have along the way!
Ask me anything.
If your question isn't here, send it my way. I read everything that comes through.
